The aim of Power Yoga, also known as dynamic yoga, is to train the body while at the same time reducing stress and restoring ideal psycho-physical rhythms. The asanas, the basic movements of traditional yoga, are maintained and combined with those of modern Western gymnastics. What essentially changes is the pace of the exercises: the transition from one position to the next becomes more fluid and dynamic. This makes Power Yoga a new form of physical activity, capable of conditioning the body under the control of the mind, training the muscles and freeing the joints.
